Maison de Terre  

Would you like to build your house as a circle - it is the most efficient shape?! Was the beginning of this conversation. Happy to commit to our newest building envelopes and creative use of materials, we built an insulated slab on grade.

Later using the tailings from our shallow excavation on site to ‘finish’ the house, and really dive deep into modest finishes and material selection to contain cost, while investing into areas where most important: Windows, insulation, design. Maison de Terre lies flat, and is a tranquil environment to raise a family, and/or a family of ducks while tending to a garden. This simple design, and almost care-free facade is very private, and combines nature with living spaces for a lifestyle that suits.
